I have an 10 year old - Kohler 20 hp American Yard Products - 50" mower deck - 6 speeds total - Hi-Lo range - Bought at Lowes.

I was looking at the Sears tractors about 3 months ago and it had the same setup - 6 speeds - 50" mower deck - Looked just alike. -

T'aint no coincidence. The mfgr. used to be Roper, then AYP, now Electrolux Home Products (EHP). Result of renaming, buyouts, etc. Not the only supplier of Sears lawn and garden but traditionally the largest.

1* it has a sheetmetal axle too and those wheels look smaller than a BX, fact is the BX can lift my AYD.
2*the sheet metal axle has held up nicely

2*The sheetmetal axle is junk on my wards MTD.
Have had nothing but problems with it.
The hole on the top left side wore out until it became egg shaped.
They wanted 27 for a new axle.
No thanks I'm not paying 27 bucks for another piece of junk.

MTD to Yard Works:

I retired my 10 year 12.5hp/42" deck MTD. Actually parted it out - kept the engine for another project. I mowed 5 acres once week. Couldn't kill the thing.

I replaced it with a 25 hp, high/low range 6 speed 50" deck with cruise control. It is a Yard Works sold through Canadian Tire. I thought it was made by MTD but could not find specs at thier site to match but did find White tractors specs to match.

I can now mow 5 acres in about 3 hours instead of 5-6 at half throttle.
Comes with a 4 year warranty...great unit...lots of power. Deck comes off in seconds etc.

Don't be confused it was just a play on words. LOL

I once made the following statement on another board where they were discussing planes and flying.

I said:
You couldn't get me up in one of those things if it stayed on the runway.
It was a long time before someone caught on and got it.

You did quite well by comparison so don't be discouraged by confusion. LOL
