There has been a lot of wondering where the cost savings are in the 2305 over the 2210. From reading from several sources within Deere, I think it is that they are seeing major cost savings by making more equipment standard and by eliminating models. Thik about it, if they can have the machine there configured the way a customer wnats it, is saves them a ton over scrambling to get those machines to a customer. So looking hard at the 2210 vs. 2305 to find the cost savings may not seem to reveal much. But factor the 4010 in and there is a big savings. Dealers will have one machine to stock vs. two before. If the 2320 is priced right, the '4010 buyer' will probably win, too!

But still looks like we won't see a green 'B' smasher...

Perhaps, but I think the 4010 and 4110 sales are because of ground clearance and the "bigger tires" aspect. I don't think the 2305 addresses the 4010 market at all, but that's just my impression.

Given the choice of a 2210, 2305 or a 4010, I would opt for the 4010. I have talked with Dutch about these, and he indicated that he really liked it as well. But also, that folks don't 'get' it. I suspect that 2210 sales really ate into the 4010, and imagine there are some out there sitting on dealer lots...

But what if buyers were presented with different options. The 2305 at a great new pricepoint, and the 2320 with more power than the 4010/4110 but priced between them? I believe most '4010' buyers would welcome a slightly larger and more powerful machine, complete with better forward visibility at a slightly higher price than JD would offer the 4010's replacement.

So, while the 2305 is no replacement for the 4010, they can cover their bases, save money, and pass some savings on. Does everybody win?

From what we heard, some cab models should ship mid October, with others shipping in December... basic or deluxe model.

Wondering if it is 'add on' at the dealer, or if it integral to the tractor and has to come off the assembly line that way?
