Shibaura P19F
I ama newbee, and just picked up a small Shibaura tractor. As I am just getting started, pls feel free to suggest ansd area of the forum, where I should go, appropriate for the 19F. First it was a barn find, and managed to get it running well now, starts right up, and has a mini backhoe on the back. What it is going to need first, are several hydraulic lines replaced, as the outrigger legs, both have leaks. The front bucket works well, but inspection of the lines also shows age.

So, my first question, is, does anyone have a suggestion/ i.e. vendor that carries parts for these guys, and or will give you a good deal on a bulk order of replacement lines. Most of the manuals, I've votten for the tractor, are of course in Japanese, but the front loader and mini backhoe, are "KELLEY" attachments, which I figure should be readily available?

Hope to learn a bunch a out this little guy and clean it up for some work. Also, I am in Hawaii, which makes for parts, and little more challenging
Thanks.

The hydraulic lines can be made locally where you live.

To start, bring in one line to a hydraulic repair place and see what they can do for you.

You might get lucky and find some small Ford tractors are actually Shibaru such as model 1210

It has a 3 cylinder Shibaura Diesel Engine that produces 16 horsepower and has optional two wheel drive and four wheel drive models that weigh 1773 pounds. View the Ford 1329 specs below. The Ford 1210 tractor has a three point hitch and a pto rated with 13.5 hp.

Thanks Dave,
Yes she purrs well, and was told by a young mechanic that the motors are german "steiglers", if I heard him correctly, ( which the Maui sugar plantation,.. now closed had a few of). He said they were solid engines, and gettingnit running after 4 years of sitting, I would have to agree.
Other than being in Hawaii, where something that cost you 30.00, cost me 100.00 dollars, I agree, we have one ( maybe 2) small local companies that will make the hoses for me. I might need to replace about 8 hoses total, so thought maybe better to bulk the order, getter done, and save a little overall.
Thanks for the input, re: similar models, i.e. ford tractor, and the stats. Just about oerfect for me, as for size. It will give me some tools to search , re: anything I need to get it back to cull operation. Surprisingly, everything seems to work at this point, just all the lines, are cracked, worn, and a couple havenfluod leaks.

Just a word of caution about the hoses, be careful not to get shot in the skin from pressurized hydraulic fluid, it can be life threatening.

Shibaura is 100% Japanese, no German about it. Very solid, well made tractors. They made the Fords as well, starting with model 1000, through 00 series, 10 series, and 20 series. I get foggy after they morphed into the New Holland TC series. Somes parts will interchange, but many will not. For instance, the transmissions on Shibaura vs Ford are quite different. Was not able to find much infomation on a P19F, but it appears to be close to a 1510 or 1710.

Thanks for all, and any info coming in. Learning a little more each day. I did, already get sprayed by hydraulic fluid, .. as it was a barn find, and I managed to get it running, and let her idle for awhile, happy she started. Then after 15 minutes or so, was time to see if I could raise the outriggers on the back, mini trencher, and both failed and sprayed me pretty good. So used ty-downs to secure the legs up, and luckily everything else heldnup, enough to raise the bucket, and the little bucket too. Got her loaded on the trailer and home.
Thus, my first post here is about hoses, as I got a really good deal on it, they couldnt start it, and a previous interested party, couldnt either. I managed to get it running after about 15 minutes, and fortunately, had already negotiated the price, as they stood there longfaced, after hearing it idling. Sometimes, you just get lucky, to cover some of those times when your , ..NOT
