Shipping my tractor to South America

We have some plants in Brazil (Fortune 500 manufacturer) and have had many problems in shipping machinery to there. Expensive tariffs and long hold-ups in customs. Sometimes we can't even get an "import license" for a piece of equipment - they won't let it in. They are trying to encourage local sourcing, but it all seems a bit dumb, if you ask me. You will really have to look in detail as to what it would take from Brazil customs and other regulatory (as someone mentioned emissions for example). Expensive or not, you are still probably better off selling here and buying local.

Wife and I are in planning stages to move to Brazil. We will sell everything, house land, personals except for the GC2410. The place we are moving to is in the country and we plan on growing Mango, Lime, Coconut, Guava, Lemon, Cashew and Papaya which is why I need a small tractor.

Any ideas on shipping companies and how to prepare a tractor for shipping?

A week ago you're giving advice on hedge rows and now you are planning a move to Brazil. Any chance we could hear the back story on this decision?

Don't forget spare parts availability. Are you going to have to import filters for oil, hydraulic, air, etc?

I'm sure it's possible to ship it there, I watched a team of engineers and assemblers take apart a 6 row cotton picker and pack it into a shipping container many years ago.

Many years ago I traveled internationally a lot. Spent more time out of the US than in it and imported many things. It was easy many years ago, just pay customs charge and we're done. Not so simple today. This is all to remind you that laws change and you need to verify what the current laws are for both import and export.
