I ordered a manual for my ATV, it has been in the USPS facility in Ca. for 13 days going by tracking number!
I ordered a part for a customer, their machine is shut down, it arrived in local UPS facility 8 days ago going by tracking number! (Still not showing out for delivery)
I ordered push button switches from China (on ebay) They arrived in TWO days!
I am so disgusted!

The last I ordered something it started out in Kansas City, Mo. to Memphis, Tenn. back north to ST.Louis,Mo Then Back south to me and I'm 2 hours driving time from Memphis, and the cost was way out of line.

Sounds like what the airline did with our bags.

Get the manual via a download, if available. USPS is a JOKE, NOT!

I bought a bull rope on ebay from a town an hour away. First it went to atl, 3 hrs sw of me, then greenville, 1.5 hrs se of me, and then it came here. Was still a day early. I sent a package to NY priority mail on Dec 22, it arrived last Sunday! Sometimes its ridiculous. When fedex first started doing Smartpost, my packages from amazon would get stuck for days or weeks

It is my understanding that the clock starts when the shipper prints the label paying for the postage, NOT when it is actually IN the Post Office. So if I was told right, they could have printed the label and threw it on their shipping dock until they had a load to go to the Post Office, and the blame goes on USPS. If anyone out there knows for sure, tell me if my info is correct please.

The clock (for delivery time) starts when the package is picked up by/dropped off at the USPS.
Until then it just shows "label printed"

Through ebay, it tells you your item has shipped as soon as the label is printed, but that doesn't mean usps has it. Of course with usps or most any online retailer (not sure about ups, fedex, etc) shipping times are estimates. They are almost never guaranteed. I think even with priority mail, usps makes you wait like 15 days or more before it can be filed as lost

You are partially correct. The site will show that the label info was sent to the PO. What it really is, is more like a bill of ladling to let the PO know what is coming. Most people construe that to mean that the PO is in possession of the article, but they are not. The next posting will show when it was first processed by the PO. Each successive scan shows how the article is moving through the system. Most of the processing is mechanized. Often times the machines are not able to read the barcodes for various reasons which results in delays in processing, improper sortation, and all of the other problems previously mentioned by other posters on this issue. So, the clock really starts when it is tendered to the PO.

It's a repair manual for a 2004 Polaris 330 ATV. I guess someone at the PO decided to read it before sending it along it's way!
Got there on the 6th and left on the 20th!
I called UPS about the part I am waiting for and they can't find it!!! It's a 2" shaft 4' long 26 lbs with machining.
They suggested that I order another one! I did, Supplier said accept which ever arrives first and refuse the other one. ???
