I'm reading more and more that the Mr Heater is noisy. Since one of the reasons I want to do this is that we have parties and get togethers in our shop several times a year. Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, plus birthdays and fish fries. If it's loud, then it's going to ruin the fun.
Who has a quite heater in their shop?
Thanks,
Eddie
A buddy just replaced his Modine (jet engine loud) heater with 2 Kerosun heaters. Very efficient and very quiet. They draw intake air directly from outside and can be exhausted just about any location, too.
His shop is a 40'x80' metal building and they will keep things comfy @ -10F. Below that, you'll need to wear a vest or light coat.. (Probably not an issue in TX!)
A similar brand that is popular here in Alaska is Monitor. With fuel prices at or above $10/gallon in rural areas of AK, these heaters are fuel stingy!
