I bought the lift table from HF that has a 1000# lift. Handy as a shirt pocket. I use it daily.

I can really see using that to lift the big chucks up to the lathe, and the vises onto the mill. Just flimsy enough to be handy!

How about a gantry or Jib crane?
Not the best photo but behind the tractor you can see it. Can use it anywhere on the shop floor, or wheel it over by the bench, lift something and then roll it over the bench and sit it down. I also have a smaller 3x4' steel bench on wheels that I use for stuff like a final drive or even tractor transmission. Lift it with the crane, roll the bench under it and lower it down. Everything is on HD casters so everything can move positions as needed.

I have seen pallet jacks that lift quite high advertised as well as lift tables that go from about 6” to 42”.
