Shopping Tillers, King Kutter brand decent?

Please report back on how it works for you. I'm interested in a tiller for my BX2660, and the KK 48" is one I would consider.

Ended up ordering the king kutter 48. It was 1434 shipped to door from Blains farm store. By far the cheapest gear driven I could find. I would have did the Cherokee from messicks but it was 500 more for the gear driven . I have a small plot I will be doing so I'm hoping I don't have problems.

A friend of mine got a Cherokee 6' tiller.
Looked like the twin to my 6' King Kutter II tiller to me.

Love my king Kutter 48"! It is just the right for my BX25D. It has the all gear drive and slip clutch. Just remember to measure and cut the PTO shaft to size and make sure it has oil in the gear box and grease the bearing. I bought mine last year for 1,350.00.

I have 60" KK for a year and a half. I've used the heck out of it. I did burn up a u-joint. Easy fix. I will be selling it to get a 6'. But this has definitely proven itself to me.

I have had my 60" KK tiller for 8 years + and it has been great. I got a new gasket and some bolts for the gear cover years back with no problem.

Looked at the KK gear driven tiller today at TSC. They have changed the gear cover to heavier steel on the outside left. Should last longer then the stamped tin that was used. All the tillers were gear driven.

This reminds me, I need to change the fluid in mine. I'll report back when I see how it looks.

If I think of it, I'll get the fluid tested to show how things are wearing. I do this with engine oil, I wonder if black stone will do this with gear oil.
