Should I be upset at my local dealer?

What parts?

You didn't pay for any parts. Didn't you just call to get a price?

No need to call them back since you offered and they didn't want to accomodate you. That's the type of thing that sends customers elsewhere.

Must've been a mix-up on their end. Play dumb when and if they call to tell you your parts that you didn't order or pay for are in.

If you don't go in and pay for the parts when they come in, you probably are done doing business with them. Or, pay for the parts, and continue to do business with them, all the while allowing this little incident to dig away at you. Either way, there's a trust issue from this point on.

Canoetrpr....The parts are not being sent to my home.

Since the part was NOT being direct shipped to you and the total COST is under 100 bucks:

Cancel the order and say sorry, and thanks!

You don't need to burn a bridge and this conversation shouldn't come up!

Your dealer should just return the part or think about stocking it... it happened to YOU so it might happen again. But the next guy might not have a neighbor with a parts bin.

Cancel the order and go spend some quality time with your healing tractor!

There is some risk of an old O ring found in a neighbors drawer leaking or failing later on. If you feel committed to pay for the kit, it may one day turn into a good investment. If not, do as others have suggested and keep your money.
