Should I Buy?? 1962 Massey 50

Kessy, I will presume you have already answered the question that "this" is the tractor that will do the things you want it to do around your place. Basic chores, such as grading, moving snow, moving dirt etc....Naturally, it is a 43 year old tractor, somewhat basic and gasoline driven, however with care, some maintenance, $$$ etc., will probably go another 43 years...
If the question then is only "price" or "is this a fair value". You can go to Iron Search , and see about 8 or so for sale, most with images.. prices range from $3200-$5900 dollars, from pretty rough to reconditioned/ repainted... to search, click on tractors, put in model number, click on Massey-Ferguson. You can then judge the condition and price compared to these from around the country....
Again, if the question is however, is this the tractor for me ?... we will now start a long discussion thread based on alot of questions on what you plan to do....

If you would like to find out alot more about the Massey 50, visit the YTmag website at Yesterdays Tractor , those folks really specialize and are active in older tractors . like the one you are considering.... They are very passionate about keeping them maintained and operating properly.......
You can go to the Ytmag Forum section and go to the Massey Ferguson section... Post your questions about this specific Massey Model and I am sure you will get some feedback....
This site is somewhat geared towards newer compact and sub-compact tractors 1970's -80's and newer models. The exception ofcourse is all the discussion sections on operating, lubrication, projects etc... these of course would apply to any type of tractor and model year..
Keep coming here for information and discussion on all the other operating questions, projects, implements etc. etc... And of course if you decide to buy a newer tractor, you can get a boat load of suggestions here..... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
