I used to live on a farm and the farm came with a Farmall Super A. I restored it, put a 5 foot Woods belly mower on it and used it for ten years.
We moved. We have 5 acres, about 3 3 1/2 to mow, horses, all kinds of yard work and a little over a quarter mile of driveway to remove snow from.
My land is hilly and the farmall has a high center of gravity. After almost rolling it, I've decided on a new tractor.
I can get a bx1500 with FEL and 54" mower for $10,600. They also have a BX2230 for $12,400.
Do I need to spend the extra $ for the added horses and 6 inches on the mower, or will I be happy and satisfied with the 1500?
They also have a commercially used woods 0 turn radius mower with a kubota engine, snowblower and sweeper for 4k, but it has 2,300 hours on it, and was used commercially.
I have kids now and don't need a project, but the price is right.
What do you guys think?
