Should I buy it? JD 467 Baler

Yeah - it didn't work out. The dealer is supposed to have a deal working on a 2002 467 baler with all the goodies with only 1700 bales thru it. I am not in a hurry - I will wait for the right one.

The dealer has that baler coming in tomorrow. I will go check it out on Monday. A 467 with only 1300 bales run thru it. Only coastal bermuda has been baled with it., Coveredge, mega wide, barn kept.

I am told it is so clean that the paint is not even worn off the pickup. So, I am pretty stoked. They are asking $22,000 for it. A new 468 is right at $30,000, so it seems like a fair deal.

I believe there is a difference in the belting splices (and possibly the Belting) between the 467 and 468-nothing that can't be changed however-they also changed the teeth in the Pickup-the new Megawide 568's (and I believe 468's) will have square pickup teeth (which is supposed to last longer)-this change was made in October-

Yeah - I think they put stronger belts in the 468, but I figure when I need new belts I can upgrae. There are misc changes.

I looked at the baler yesterday - it is like new. 467 megawide with cover edge. It looks like it doesn't even have a scratch on it. My 5525 will have fun pulling it.

They also took in trade a John Deere 702 10 wheel rake - so I snagged that also.

I thought you had already made a deal on a Krone.

I have been using the fertilizer plants pull buggy and putting it out myself. It saves quite a bit compared to letting the trucks put it out. It might not be a real big savings if you factor in your time and fuel to go get it and take it back but it helps. I'd still have to be there when the truck brings it.

I have pricing on a Krone.

I got a deal on a used JD 467 baler with megawide and coveredge and a JD 702 10 wheel rake.

I am still in the market for a disc mower. If I don't find a deal on a used on before season, I will probably just buy a Krone.

I like to put my own fertilizer out. You also get to verify if it gets put down, etc...
