Should I buy this tractor ?Who makes it

Who makes the Kodiak tractor ,I was told the chinese,who builds the engine,tranny,i,m looking at a 1998 and can,t find info anywhere,please help,thanks in advance Scott-Prescott,Arizona /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm not familiar with that brand name, Can you post pictures? How many cylinders is the engine? There are several Chinese companies that are no longer imported or supported in the US, some are completely out of business. If you can get any info off of the engine, they are often built by other companies,
Also is the trator dated 1998 or is it the engine, it might be newer than you think.

Kodiak was a brand name that was on a Jinma tractor, that use to be offered by China Generators. Not sure, but others could have sold as well. Look at some pictures of Nortracs, to be sure they are Jinmas. There are some brands that have been used on multiple chinese tractor manufacturers.

Its a 2 cyl. 25h.p.and I can not get the guy to find the tag ,I ,m sure it has one ,the pictures are on e-bay,under agriculture--backhoe,,I only have so much $$ to deal with and its close to my state thanks Scott

Seems funny you wouldn't have caught wind of this outfit Chip. According to http://pcsurf.com/generator/ "Our “KODIAK” Tractors 25HP, 30HP and 50HP are assembled and shipped from our Central Warehouse in Arkansas to customers".

Not unexpectedly, the http://www.kodiaktractors.com/ website does not respond.

Sound like anybody we know?

anyhow so far you got great info, parts for JINMA based are usually pretty available states side. I think i remember getting onto a kodiac site like 4 years back when I was first searching for a tractor...

now I KNOW how to spot most brands of import tracotrs, but back then I didn't have a clue.

OH BTW: the local AGCO dealer now has a load of McCormick tractors in, I THINK they are pretty similar to a branson/centruy? anynoe have a good link to their web site?

From the Ebay Picture, I am not convinced it is a Jinma. Could be an older one with what looks like a metal hood. Metal rear fenders are different than Jinma of a few years ago. Also doesn't look like it has a creeper lever.

It looks like a shneu that Taskmaster of Crestwell, OR. Imported. If it is stay away from it. They are hard to get parts for. I had a Taskmaster TM 304 years ago and had a lot of trouble getting part from these guys. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
