Should I pay JD suggested retail?

I think someone else said it possibly if you just called up they probably just pulled up the JD configurator like you did a quoted you a price.

If you can afford the tractor you want and have made your mind up go pay them a face to face visit. I had to go back a number of times and when I did not feel like I was getting the deal I should from the sales man I took it a notch up. The sales guy never called me back and I felt he just did not want my business this went on for over three weeks..

I completed all of the credit application stuff prior to my next visit and went to the sales managers office and sat down. I said I have been wanting to buy a tractor from them for over a month now what does a guy have to do to spend money with them. Well that did it, I got more off than with the other salesman and this guy treated me like a customer should be treated. I have gone back to him every time buying implements and all. I did not want to go to another dealer because I was more concerned with ongoing service than the sales and this place was closer and well known for their service.

Good Luck

I wanted another JD bad, had one for six years and it was a great machine. The dealer is only two miles from my house and I had bought my first Deere there, he would not go below 5% off the MSRP and I didn't get the retail price from the JD site, it came from the dealer. I visited another dealer about 30 miles away, same story, same deal. The other tractor brands were giving 20 to 22% off, the choice for me was simple.

Hey Norm how ya doin? If I were a betting man I sure wouldn't bet against you on that one. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I wish that he would get over it and grow up though. Although like I was saying in a previous post, he is kind of amusing. I sort of (in a weird way) look forward to what he's going to come up next. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Have a great weekend!

My local dealer quoted me 2% off list for a 3720,cx300 loader, and a frontier 6' overseeder. I went to another dealer 200 miles down the road and he was 15% off of list. Then I crossed state lines and went another 250 miles and got the whole package for $27000. The discount was 22% off the JD configurator price. It's nice to shop local but $6500 is still $6500 in my mind. Expecting delivery next week and am excited.
