Found this in my one of my ravines this morning. Oddly, I was thinking of buying one and modifying it to my tractor (which is Hydraulic and front mount).

I can't tell what kind it is. It did get a bit munched, but as it looks to me the sickle bar itself is the problem area. Not sure what make it is, maybe you can make out something I cannot on what is left of the tag.

Might look good with mailbox mounted to it

Could be a candidate for electrolysis with washing soda to clean it up. You familiar with that?

It might be workable once the dirt is all washed away.

Power wash, sandblast and oil it up; then let's see what you've got.

The bar itself is pretty hashed. Teeth are missing / bent. bar at the end is bent. Still trying to ID the machine as well. Trying a rubbing tomorrow.

You are still missing much of the mounts and I don't think it is that old as that it has been neglected. I say that as old ones used wooden pitmans not belt drive, the other part is it looks like a plastic pto shield which hasn't been around that long.

In the old days there were many machines that were built in areas and sold before the larger companies improved distribution and bought them out. The W like that makes me think of Worthington!

Could that be an Allis Chalmers triangle logo on the tag? Like this:
