I may not be a wrench turner but I' really good at raising HE#$. He will never make that mistake again. He was appologetic but that doesn't cut it when he tried to charge me 34.65 for 2 1/2 gallon of fluid that was included in the install price of the loader. Needless to say I wasn't charged and he's probably still a little shaken.

If it wasn't run too hard your hydraulics probably didn't reciece much wear. Maybe took off a hudred or so hours of life. As for the front axle too much fluid will cause seals to fail prematurely and cause cavitation(air bubbles) in the fluid and extra wear on the gears and bearings. If it were mine I would drain it all out and refill it to the proper level. You'll be able to pull out bushes and mow uphill without so much as a hic-up now.

I seriously doubt that it took any measurably amout of life of the tractor, It wasn't like it was running without fluids. On several occassions I have been unable to do things like raise my loder to full height and find out that I'm low on fluid. The pumps still have fluid, just not enough to fill the cylinders fully and they don't run dry. Fluid is still flowing,

I disagree about the amount of damage that occurred. If the fluid level was low enough to prevent the propel pump from generating sufficient torque, damage was done.
The transaxles are closed circuit systems with charge pumps. If a system is low enough that that charge pump is cavitating, it doesn't take long to damage the valve plate and piston slippers. We fail pumps in this manner in a few minutes on test stands (I work for a company that builds these type of transaxles).
I'd pull an oil sample immediately before operating any more to determine if there are any yellow metals (from valve plate or slippers) in the oil. This will indicate metal on metal wear conditions from a starved pump.

Just wanted to thank all who replied to my question. After the past 2 evenings of some seat time with the front end loader............................. YES THE TIRES NOW BREAK LOOSE!!!!!! Pretty sure the tractor took all of the fluid it needed and my size 14 western boot has made friends with the hydro pedal. I'm pretty sure I grinned the entire time and am looking forward to finishing the wife's stone wall tomorrow.
