Shouldn't Manufactures be Members?

Re: Shouldn\'t Manufactures be Members?

If you want to see how it *can* be done, go here:

http://www.ar15.com

It's a web site for AR 15 rifles. It is mainly shooters and the buying public, but there is a whole section set aside for each of the manufacturers where they answer questions, address problems, notice up new products, sometimes offer specials to those on site, etc. etc. I think the manufacturers have to pay (I'm not sure) but if you look at the site organization and the way it is run, it is pretty interesting.

Food for thought, as an example of how this place could be. Seems the manufacturers can have their feet held to the fire and they are very sensitive to such a large "consumer reports" type environment and critisisms, etc.

Re: Shouldn\'t Manufactures be Members?

Manufacturers will not post here for three reasons;
1. dealers/distributors do not like them in retail business like here.
2. sales people at factories are employee usually with constant income. They do only what they are told to do. Extra works may cause you loose your jobs. Risky to communicate here. But some of them may be posting here under different names.
3. most of manufacturers are not open minded people. Manufacturers like me are rare.
