You guys have beautiful sheds , this is my next big project for next year. Keep on posting the pictures as I need some ideas.
I have in mind something around 24X32 with a gambrel roof, but still not decided 100% as far as the shape or height.
I'd like to heat with wood stove as I have plenty of wood.

I went the lean-to route, with a few "temporary" pieces of plywood & sheet plastic. So far it's working well, with the exception of the low height the dumb builder (me...:ashamed:) put on the lean-to posts. Little tight for a cab....

Dave,

Its 24x36 with a floor trusses, (no posts) on a poured slab. The slab has 18"x24" perimeter with 4 rebar running along the trench, then looped rebar tying into the center of the slab.

I did the foundation prep digging down 2' all around and leveled the pad area then installed "crusher run" 1/2 stone with tailings that packs and drains well then the concrete guys formed up the perimeter, laid the rebar in one day and poured and finished the next day. Total 26 yards I think about $2800 if I recall. They scored it as well. No cracks or heaving in 11 years.

I looked up and found my materials list also - its attached. I did some 'bartering" as I had a Kubota L185 DT with Backhoe that I restored and a contractor friend of mine had rough pine for the framing, flooring and side walls and he wanted a TLB so we did some trading.. worked out well all around. I did purchase the roof framing materials and trusses to meet code.

Cant attach excel files so here is the text file you can save and open with excel, or the PDF format too.

Carl

BTW - DON'T do as I did and put the man door on the front of a metal roof building.. see pic in the winter.. it looks the same here today as it did in 2005 when this pic was taken.

CarlNH.. I hope you don't take it badly, but I'll be taking up residence in Gladehound's place for a while...

You guys are great. I hope to put up something worthy of my tractor. I love big shops, but I have a 1ac, compound full of carports, containers, two site trailers + bldg. The only thing I lack here is access where I can shoot paint in a controlled environment. I have to wait for nice days. Cheers all.

Jim
