And here's the shoes they are trying to fill, in her last years Halloween costume. Had to put her down in March due to kidney and liver failure. We'll never use Rimadyl again.
Here's Jasmine (Jazzie)- rescued from the local animal shelter about 10 weeks ago. She's about 4 years old, shelter called her an Australian Kelpie mix. Very smart and very fast! Loves to play ball and go for walks. We also have a 6 year old Sheltie that we're fostering for the Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue (www.nvsr.org) group but don't have a picture of her with me at the office.
Great thread, some really good shots of our canine family members.
The attached picture and the picture under my name is Maggy. She is an eleven year old Beagle/Collie mix. I rescued her from the pound when I was in 8th grade and we have been best pals ever since. My wife refers to Maggy as the "woman that came before her" and my "first love". Maggy and I have only spent one year apart since I have had her. My first year of college I lived in the dorms and had to leave Maggy with my parents in KS. By the end of that year I had found a house to rent with some other guys and Maggy was able to join me in MS.
This is Lightening. She is a three and a half year old Border Collie/Lab mix. She is incredibly active and will run laps around our place just for fun. We got Lightening as a puppy and introduced her to Maggy. Maggy liked her, but we think it was just because Lightening was so small and Maggy could order her around. Today, Lightening is totally infatuated with Maggy and won’t let her out of her sight. They get along very well.
This is a picture of Maggy and Lightening in the backseat of our car as we were evacuating the destruction of Hurricane Katrina to my sisters house in Oklahoma. They both love to ride in cars, which is a good thing considering how much traveling Angie and I do.
So far these are the best 3 I could have asked for. All shelter dogs. 2 of them on death row since the shelter fills up fast /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif And the rottie was given up since the clown did not want to pay for here HIP operation. Go I hate some people! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
We have had K9 police dogs, labs, golden Ret, black labs, and some others.
They have a bad rep due to morons...
As I tell anyone, you do not like my dogs, please do not stop over....

This is Brownie, she was a shelter dog too. She's a white Boxer/Beagle mix with two brown spots, apparenly thats where the name comes from. Great dog, resembles a Pit so the yard is safe plus shes great with my son and wife.
here she is with her "friend". She gave up barking and raising cane because she was being ignored, so now she'll just watch. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
