Let's see your bench in various states of chaos or calm. Here is my little 2ft by 4ft 1/2in steel top portable tool chest/bench. Some days it is clean with a vise on a corner... other days...

Don't have a pic. Of mine but it's 8foot legs are 4x4s table top is 2 sheets of 3/4 osb and a vice in the corner.

Here ya go. 12' long and 2.5' deep. 1/8" steel plate covers the whole thing.

This is what mine looks like most of the time.... I do clean it maybe every year or so.... honest..

Here's the oldest (1983) bench I've built still currently in use. It's 16'x2'. Doubled up 3/4" ply for thickness wrapped with a 16 gauge formed top.

These days I tend to find myself using the freestanding benches more and more.
