I'd probably just make another angle iron fastener.

I don't fasten the weights on my 9540. If I bounce the tractor hard I'll hear them bang around a little but have never lost one.

When I lived in rural Maine with fields, woods, swamps and severe hills and rocks, I had a Kubota M8950 with --I think-12 or so weights on the front. I severely bounced around, nearly rolled it and never had one move.

I built my rack and intentionally made it a bit long. So the weights can side shift a little. I think that's the banging around I hear occasionally.

Of course someone will read our posts and decide to not fasten their weights and bounce one off. We'll hear about that!!!!! :D

Seems like they COULD also bounce around enough to break?

I'd like to see a 100# weight break. Maybe when I was younger....:D

You stud you. ;)

Not saying you can't break them, but it's going to take more impact than a 1/4" of slack will create. I'm always gentle with them thinking I might break one if I drop it too hard or something. But I can't say I've ever saw one broken.

This started out as a weight bracket for an old L series. I made it work with the grill guard. It sits high enough for me to get up and down the hills I mow.

How did you mount that with the grill guard? Do you have a closer photo?

I was going to post more pictures last night but Photobucket would not cooperate.

Then I can put 4 weights on the grill guard on the L4240.

94BULLITT--that is a beautiful installation with what is probably Kubota's best looking weight on Kubota's fine BX. Plus the dual use is icing on the cake. We sure are fortunate to own these beautiful tractors and be capable of doing such quality mods.

Thanks about the installation. I feel very fortunate to have these tractors. The weights are actually a copy of Kubotas weight. They say NS5011 on them. They were a good bit less since they don't say Kubota. I was looking at weights the other night and came across this website with aftermarket weights.
