I made a real cheap thing from a few 2x4's and a 4'x4' piece of chainlink fencing I had. The outcome was very crude but it worked well and has been working for a good 2 years now.

if you really want to get fancy, mount the mesh on a frame with springs and put a motor with an off balance shaft on it so the whole screen assemby vibrates.

A simpler installation than springs would be what I used on my mobile screener, item #9376K69 page 1350 of the mcmaster-carr catalog.

I had already put mine in a spearate post, but, for sake of getting them all in one place, I'll post the links here too:

Description:
2x4's with 1" x 2" vinyl coated fence wire stapled on top.
4 feet wide, because that's what the wire was. BX FEL bucket is just under 48".
Legs hinge under, so it stores flat. Piece of rusty chain to hold the legs from splaying out while in use. Angle is approx. 45 to 50 degrees.
Cost $0.00 yippee.

Great job!
I really like it.
So much so that I've added it to my list of favorite sifters/screeners.
I do have one question though>
How do you get the FEL bucket under it to scoop out the sifted dirt with the board across the back with the chain on it?
I'm thinking use 2 chains.
1 on each leg connected to each outside 2x4 of the frame thus eliminating the board across the back to allow the FEL access to the sifted soil.
Either that or raise the board across the back and the chain enough to get the Loader under the sifter to scoop out the dirt.
