Forgot this on my last post. When test driving a 45 at a dealer (one i didn't buy from) you could go from forward to reverse without clutching, especially easy in low and medium but the one i did end up buying does not do that. I HAVE to clutch, it will come out of gear and will start to enter but does NOT trully engage. I thought that maybe it needed to be "loosened up" and drive it a little bit but it hasn't gotten any better (or worse). Is there some kind of adjustment I could make or should I just deal with it? I thought this feature was the whole purpose of shuttle shift? If not its not much different than just throwing an "R" in the gear selection. Not a big deal cuz hydro isn't available on the 45 yet so we had no choice anyway. Thanks Tom

I use the clutch on my 45 when changing directions. That is normal. Kioti does not offer any type of hydraulic shuttle shift on the 45.

The synchro shuttle means you dont have to STOP between forward and reverse (it will improve clutch life if you do give a tap on the brake as you shift direction) but you must use the clutch. I had a 65 mustang that the clutch linkage fell out off, and I quickly learned that I could "speed shift" it by just coming off the accelerator and shift into the next gear without a grind, but pretty sure it wasnt doing the syncro rings any good...
