Shuttle shift transmissions?

   / Shuttle shift transmissions? #21
Thanks for info.
We have different needs and habits here. No compacts here, instead of them people use small ag tractors (like MF 35 or Long460, for example). FEL is rare on them.
Most of time tractor can be parked with loaded trailor, and no brakes on trailor.
I asked for TN size tractor or bigger, because we can't buy CUT's here, as nobody look for them. And smaller tractors are low speced here.

I read that lot of people there have power reversers, but didn't see that anybody talked about that particular problem, and am just curious how things are working with that kind of tranny. If I'll look for that kind of tranny, I will not rely just on park brake.
BTW, my bigger tractor has synchro shuttle, and smaler just ordinary "grinding" tranny. As we haven't FEL, and doing just ag work and road hauling, we don't need PR.

You could do as the truckers driving the Grapevine did and get a set of chains, attach them to the tractor someplace sturdy and throw them under the tire. The tractor tire would attempt to ride up the chain and lock itself up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
