Sick of cutting grass in WNY

So far this post sounds like little red riding hood trying to find the porridge that was just right. We have the desert down by Bird and the grass monster up by Von and myself. Doesn't anyone live in bewteen us in the happy medium where it rains just enough, the grass grows slowly, and the snow only lasts two weeks in mid Feb and then spring comes??? Come on guys I have 4 years to retirement from my current employ and am looking for greener pastures!

SIGH.......... thats what I was afraid someone would say. Unfortunatley several million people too many discovered that before I became old enough to relocate! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I want to get MORE land as I get older and that's a commodity in CA that AINT CHEAP!

Depends on the kind of lifestyle you want to retire to. My 1/3-acre place here in the S.F. Bay Area was just appraised at $470,000 (I couldn't afford to buy it myself, now), but my 42 acres in the foothills was less than $300,000, buildings and all.

And the old farmers around here think it's ridiculous that the city folks are moving out here and paying as much as $2k an acre for land./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
