T3 Terramite backhoe
I am rebuilding a T3-15 and like a dummy I loaned it out to my bother...well the hydrostatic rear end, pinion and gear are chewed up. I contacted Conequip. to see if they could help me, but its still up in the air because the T3 is so old...I am asking if anyone has any ideal for a rear end or parts I might track down..thanks jeff

Jeff do you know if the 3-15 shares the same rear end as a terramite 4? If it does I can get you some information on it

You know, I can't honestly answer that because I have never seen a T4 terramite. heck..I never saw a T3 until I bought this one off the side of the road....but I would assume that if its hydrostatic drive rear end and being the next type they came out with...well I would think they would match...I don't know what year they went to shaft drive, maybe T7....? but think you and yes if it hydrostatic drive ...please let me know...I am stumped on this hitting brick walls at every turn so far....1167bp thank you for responding either way..

Glad to hear it's the same rear end.. you may be able to source the parts elsewhere too. They will probably just not be able to search "terramite" to find them

well after a closer look, this rear end is a shaft driven not a hydrostatic drive...but the pinion and gear appear to be the same..I sent a copy of the drawing to equipment/terramite and I'm waiting to see what they say....I have the number off the gears, you would think that's all I needed

The Dana 44 diff is popular amongst most Terramite models. The power of the units are in the pumps and their abilities. From around 2013 those diff's were changed. Spares should not be difficult to get.

If you call Terramite the part numbers you require will be.

1. Part Number 64004 Gear and Pinion ***'y-Drive
2. Part Number 55240 Pinion-Differential
3. Part Number 55400 Gear-Differential
4. Part Number 55410 Shaft-Differential

These are the gears you will require to repair your Differential.

Yes I am really from South Africa......
Terramite machines have a footprint in Africa.....
I currently take care of the Product Support for Terramite in Africa.

Please let me know if their is any other information that I can assist with.

I am happy to report that I have solved the mystery with my sick-T3. the hydrostatic trans axle is not a terrmite drive, but a 300 john deer someone mounted on it years ago. I didn't know one way or another if it was suppose to be a shaft drive or hydro drive, no one told me other wise. I found out buy luck while on ebay. the 400 looked close, so I backed up to a 300 and a 316 and bam!! their it was. I bought one out in N.C. a 9.5 hour drive, but what the heck. the parts are not made anymore so I bought the rear drive transaxle complete. I will switch rear ends and sell it...thanks again to those who tried to help me in this matter. jeff
