thanks for all the responses, video and pointing out the safety aspects.
What I intend to use this for is embankments that are too steep for the GC with a bush hog, ie; the road frontage along my farm which is about a mile. Just too long to weed eat 2x a year. And just general maintenance around the edges of my pastures under trees and such, which I cannot get too with the bush hog.
You might like the Samurai Sabre that mounts up front on the bucket and is powered by the tractor hydraulics.
That is an idea, do you own one of these?
Hi here it's Galfre writing, I was informed about this post and so I decided to answer personally as manufacturer. Our FRG130 mower, as you can see in the video of our excellent distributor Goodwin Concepts it's the best drum mower SHAFT DRIVEN (not belt driven) for a tractor like Carraro, Kubota,... 15-20Hp are enough for this mower to work and the weight of 200 Kg it's ridicolous.
By the way remember that we have a warehouse in OH at MT Orab there you can find all our parts in a short time!
Ciao from Italy!
Here is a link to Galfre, the only Drum mower for compact and sub compact tractors that I know of. Minimum HP required 15 to 20. Plus, it is within the weight limits of most compact tractors. Who else has that? Ken Sweet

Thanks guys:thumbsup:. How much do these run?
Weight is an issue, but I don't think there is a sickle mower that would not be too heavy for the GC.

450# is a lot to hang outside the wheel track on a small tractor. Guess you could keep it on the uphill side. I do have have one of the Samurai sickle bars mentioned earlier. It is 4' cut, hydraulic drive~ 4gpm, les than 100#. It will cut up to about 1" trees at 2000psi. It may work for you. Thanks guys:thumbsup:. How much do these run?
