Sickle Bar Sickle bar mowers

First Choice offers a 5ft and a 7ft Sickle Mower which comes from Italy. Very reasonable price compared to other units I checked, such as Beefco. I have one on order with them but they are currently out of stock (at least the 7ft'er) but have a new shipment on the way soon. I will use mine for cutting around my 10 acre pond mostly.

Hi JerryT,
Where did you order your First Choice at? Also would you mind giving us an idea of price? Thanks for the info.

I still haven't found a sickle for mine yet .I'm sill looking through the web. There was a good point made about the weight of the tractor, and being shakey on hills. Well that is my main concern. I do have the rears loaded, but no FEL. The reason I started this thread is because my wife wanted me to get one,(I love my wife) until she found out the price.

Want to trade? Every time I mention something about any kind of implement, she frowns and says, I suppose you "need" one of those too. I took the attached picture of a cool dump cart on my honeymoon. She actually put it in the scrapbook with the heading "Steve needed a closeup of the dump cart so he can build one someday"

Anyone seen any that would work off the mid mower attachment of a NH 33D? It would be nice to have both my hog mower and a sickle bar when making the rounds.

You can see the mower on the FC www site at firstchoiceequipment.net. I would recommend that you call them (252-293-4700). I know they are out of stock on the 7ft mower but have a new shipment on the way. When you call try to talk with Pieter. He is a little hard to get a hold of these days because they are so busy but he will take care of you.

Thanks JerryT,

I looked at the site already. Pretty much looks like the Befco. I'd be more interested in the 5 ft mower to use with my TC21D. Thanks for the site, and reply.

I think that Tonnutti would be the best bet for a mower 5' or under. The smallest one weights in around 356#. That's about what my Bushhog SQ420 weights. I'm not sure how it would handle on a slope just have to be careful. Another thing would be finding a dealer and cost. At one time I priced one through a wholesaler and it was going to be around $3600.
