I'm sure this idea will take a lot of flak but wondering how valuable hydraulic side shift would be on a 3PH. I've seen the capability of top and tilt cylinders and would hate to go back to manual for these adjustments. Many forklifts have the side shift option for the forks which is very useful.

The challenge in designing a side shift would appear to be coordinating with the travel of the lift arm(s). I would assume that only one lift arm would need the side shift capability. Float capability would be useful for some of the same reasons as it's useful on top and tilt.

I've noticed some of the newer large tractors have a side shift or at least a variable side cushion on the drawbar. Everything seems to be getting more complex, eh?

There is a quick hitch device, can not think of the name atm, the main frame connected to the tractor has a track of sorts that the implement side of the hitch rides in. There is a cylinder mounted horizontally between them to shift the implement side to side, maybe 6" - 8" either way.

I'm pretty sure it worked with gps and is meant for planting straight rows.

My buddy bought one at auction for nothing and used it as a base to build something entirely different.

--Edit to complete my thought...

One of those could be made to achieve side shift without the gps.

Some google hits on "side shift for 3 point".
None of these are what I was envisioning but some of them accomplish basically the same thing as shiftint the 3-point lower arms. I do realize that sideways shift of the arms is fairly limited on a 3PH.

What I mentioned would be like the side shift backhoe, but with a quick hitch in place of the backhoe.

And the rear fixed 3 point.

Where do you find this stuff? That looks like a slightly different take on the front 3PH where the top link attachment point appears tied to the lower lift arms.

Several years ago I saw one on eBay, saved some pictures and went to their Website.

When I saw the title of your thread, I remembered it.

The Terratracs with front side-shift (pics in post #6) don't look to have the front PTO, have chains dangling from TL 'bases' and apparently quick links at the end of arms unlike the rear draft arms in the 3rd pic. Used for 'shunting'/parking/palleting implements, those two?

btw, Kubota power in (the smaller hp, 50, 72) AEBI's of late, nice cabs, & lights. Of course there's no price list just 'out there'.

Kinda have to clear the rear tires to keep draft arms from rubbing, no? .. so everything behind the tires, more or less? (Didn't catch how much shift (in, ft) or what implement.) Shift all 3 pts or the shorter top link would cause tilt at extremes. That said, could be plumbed as tho' a top or tilt cyl, ... or I'm just up too late.

The AEBI is an amazing piece of machinery. It looks like the front "3PT" pivots up and back rather than a somewhat near parallel lift as we normally think of a 3PT.
