I'm sure this idea will take a lot of flak but wondering how valuable hydraulic side shift would be on a 3PH. I've seen the capability of top and tilt cylinders and would hate to go back to manual for these adjustments. Many forklifts have the side shift option for the forks which is very useful.
The challenge in designing a side shift would appear to be coordinating with the travel of the lift arm(s). I would assume that only one lift arm would need the side shift capability. Float capability would be useful for some of the same reasons as it's useful on top and tilt.
I've noticed some of the newer large tractors have a side shift or at least a variable side cushion on the drawbar. Everything seems to be getting more complex, eh?
