On my former 4100 and 4310 units, i had side discharge and I just tried to mow in a direction that would allow me to eventually grind all the clippings up into very small bites. I would basically mow over the windrows to pulversize them. It worked pretty well. Now i have a flail and I am also looking to get a used MMM and I will use both.
