A couple of years ago Mrs.tiller walked out to the tin shed with her house slippers on. It is all concrete except for a stretch of 20' of 1" limestone. Her slippers got dirty and the rock hurt her feet. She let me know about it!

A brand new 7' wide sidewalk solves the slipper problem. As a bonus to me, snow blowing a path to the door will be much easier this winter. Win. Win.

There is a 1" asphalt expansion joint between the 2 sidewalks, a 1/2" asphalt expansion joint at the driveway/sidewalk and 3 joints cut in with a saw.
There is also 125' of 3/8 re-rod sitting in the bottom third of the 6" thick pad.

True, but the slippers are prettier, and that's what is important.

And don't forget about the happy tractor snowblower.

Until I moved out into the country, I never appreciated concrete like I do today. Now I want concrete walkways to everywhere I go!!!! Congrats on yours, it looks great.

Nothing wakes you up more than "finding" a crack in the concrete with a blade, snow pusher, or blower.
