Simp or Deere?

Perhaps the attachments: quality, design, and ease of use might help you decide. It's hard to beat JD attachment design. The hydraulic blade works great. But, you'll need weights and chains to be effective. I do this with my 425. Works real well, but putting those chains on every fall is a PITA.

Spend more, get 4WD and avoid the chains.

That's why I suggested the Kubota GR series.I used to push snow with a Simplicity and those weights and chains were a pain. Then the chains would mark up the blacktop.
I've got a blade coming for the GR soon, and planning to make a power lift/angle mechanism for it.The dealer said I could T-off the line for the deck lift and use a small cylinder up front for the blade lift.I'm thinking a 12V linear actuator for the power angle if I can come up with one with the right travel and load requirement.

For my money, knowing what I know now and doing what I do now, if I was buying new again I'd only be looking at 4WD with factory hydraulic implements. Having to make my own implements or mods would be a nonstarter for me: too much time to make, and not usually "as good".

On the JD 500 series: My uncle just bought a new one (500). He offered to trade it even for my 14 year old 425. I've never used the 500's, but he said it wasn't near the tractor that my 425 was. Comparable to my 425 today would be in the 700 series. Here you can get 4WD, shaft driven, heavy, with awesome implements that are well engineered for both performance and convenience.

There's probably similar equipment available from Simplicity, Kubota, and others. I'd look at them all before deciding.

Unfortunately what I am recommending means spending thousands more than planned. Just remember that you're gonna use it for many years. Get the best and you won't regret it. Or look for a good used 425/445/455 with implements. Would cost less than a new 500.

*This is exactly why I went from
a CC GT 2554 with a rear tiller and front blade to a Kubota BX 1500 with a rear tiller and front blade.
Kubota cost a little more than the Cub Cadet but was well worth the difference!

HA, my wife's ready to disown me now that I have the 2305 and I keep finding reasons for more attachments.. you know the old saying: sometimes it's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission!

Used would be your best bang for the buck. But, in new, have you considered Snapper? Haven't researched them, but they do make a 4WD model with hydraulics. Good equipment ain't cheap, but neither is paying someone to cut your lawn.

Hmm... I see you trolling all these forums and pushing Kubota all the time. You may love your Japanese product, but why are you pushing it all so many different forums here? This guy was asking about Simp or Deere. There is a great comparrison chart between the Simp and Deere that I referred to above anyone could take a look at. That should answer some of the questions one would have between the two.

Can you get hydraulic angle control on a scraper blade for a BX? I couldn't find such an attachment on the Kubota website. Looked to all be mechanical. As far as I can tell, you had to step up to the B series to get that. Or am I missing something? Hydraulic angle control is a must for me on a snow plow.

1* bought a new Kubota 60'' hydraulic lift and hydraulic angle front blade for my BX1500 last Nov.
It will also fit my BX23 or any and all of the other BX models.
2*I found it at the dealer I bought the BX1500 from.
3*The 54'' one is the mechanical angle one but is is still
a Hydraulic lift.
4*I don't know how you came up with that but it just isn't correct.
5*Yeah you are ; but i don't know what.
6*I don't blame you that's why mine is Hydraulic angle.
