Simple farm tractors are history

The problem with those old Yanmars is they only made compacts, not utility sized machines. And this thread is about farm tractors.
My YM2610 is more than a compact, it is a farm tractor. Back in the day a Ford 8N was the work horse farm tractor. My machine is a notch greater for power and ability in the same size.

The YM5000, YM6000, and YM7000 are the Deere JD1250, JD1450 and JD1650.

Go back and look at the classics, those are the machines America used as "Simple Farm Tractors."

Yes, this is the Yanmar compact you are referring too.

Yes but I’ve never seen a red Yanmar of that size and you were showing compacts in the ad photos you posted. Did they make red Yanmars in this size?

And Yanmar made a YM7000, 78Hp machine too,

Yanmar also made another series machine and had 4-cly turbo diesels with 110 to 120Hp tractors. Some were re-badged for Mitsubishi and Mahindra.

Owned a Org. YM2000 since 2008 which is my FM. tractor. I rebuilt a 63 Ford for the size and Hp.. Org. Era. FEL.. 12V. and still using points!... My Yanmar was a imported rice patty tractor. Favorite!!

My 2002 only has 5 idiot lights, 3 gauges & 551 hrs. It'll last my lifetime. I do have a built-in theft prevention, if I don't hold the PTO lever back the ignition will not work, gotta replace that safety switch some day, but it's low on the important list.
works when holding the PTO lever back, it sounds like an adjustment of the safety switch or lever more than a faulty switch

Todays farm tractors are packed with electronics and gadgets.
This is the dash of a Massey Ferguson today:

Every light on the dash, is a module to go bad, and a wire to break. I believe the original Massey 35 is still in production today - in Turkey. Africans love them

You can still buy 35+ year old tractors that are simpler, but they are pretty wore out by now. You’d have to hope you can get parts for them.
We wore out my grandfather's Case SC four times already. My grandfather rebuilt it once, my father once, and I've done it twice. Just got through doing a valve job on it last Fall. Will be putting it back to work plowing vegetable plots if the snow ever melts away.

Dash consists of a manual choke, ignition switch, starter switch, headlight switch, and analog gauges for temperature, oil pressure, and charging system. Oh, and the gear shift emerges from the center.
