Since my wife decided to move her truck today and park it where she "thought" it was out of the way of plowing snow I found a new use for the 3PH. A short piece of chain between her fender and the 3PH while creeping forward and lifting at the same time removed her front fender from the front right tire and positioned it back in the general vicinity of its intended location. Next, I did the same to pull my rear bumper back to its general vicinity of intended location.

The last snow here in southwest Georgia was 1993, and it was about 4". Perhaps my lack of experience with snow is what causes me to wonder how you can hit the right front fender of your wife's truck with the rear bumper of yours while plowing.

Backing up is part of plowing too. I was distracted momentarily from my mirrors but didn't think much of it since 5 minutes earlier there was nothing behind me.

When I did a bit of commercial snow remouval with a 4 x 4 GMC 3/4 ton I'd want to get the job done ASAP.

One drive went between 2 very large outcroppings of bedrock just wide ecough to clear the 8ft blade.

Needed to widen considerably just past the outcroppings in order to have 'turn around room'.

I was pretty good at the fast foreward/backup/go again required to do large areas.

But one day after a wind blown 18" dumping (every thing was kinda blended in), because I pushed with the blade at angle, the front shifted sideways and so when I backed up I smacked into that HUGE imouvable mack truck sized rock, hid the rear window and demolished the rear end!

Totalled the bumper and PU box corner.
The replacement bumper became a 5" X 3/8" channel.
At a later date even that channel had bent corners.

No matter how experienced you get at plowing, these things happen.
Ever look at a current year model PU after a season of contract plowing?
They look as if they just came back from Iraq or Afganastan!

Guys tend to take on 100-150 driveways with the one truck-no wonder.

Ironically enough, I plow with a 3/4 ton GMC. Last year it was a boulder in the drivers side door from getting sucked into a ditch. The damage was done during retrieval (high lift jack, 40' 3/8 cable, and one snatch block)

The procedure you talked about of creeping forward and lifting at the same time works wonders for removing shrubs. I have a buddy who had a whole bunch of them and try as he would with a pickup then a 50 HP tractor was a no go. I told him he was doing it all wrong and I would get them out with my 28HP Chinese unit.

Did just as you said with my flex hitch, Reese Hitch for 3 points, and a 4' section of 3/8" chain. He could not believe it. He had yanked and yanked with no results but I was able to pop them right out with little fuss.
