Single wire Alternator Nut What size??

I have a 1974 Jim Dandy that came with a single wire AC Delco Alternator on it. In replacing the tranny the nut has vanished. I've tried both Metric and SAE nuts that I had in my shop with no luck. It seems to be a really odd size. I believe it is the same type use on Chevy Camaros Vegas Novas etc, Does anyone have a clue what size nut is to go on this thing??

It will be a fine thread SAE so called NF.
Nothing unique or fancy.
I dont recall the size perhaps 10-32.

Here's the one from mine. I would have said the same thing as Dave M7040 about it being a NF thread but it actually is a 12-24 or at least thats the bolt I have it screwed onto. This one has a built on washer.

I dont think they are all one size. Depends on maker and amp rating and all that.

Got a set of calipers and a thread pitch gauge?

I'll bet they are several different sizes. This is the cheaper one 60 Amp I think. Fits chevy 63-70 something. It might be the one the OP mentioned about he thought it fits a Nova or Vega. ? If you have to build a mount you might as well get the less expensive one. This one is on my bro Ford Backhoe.
