Skid Plates

I have a New Holland TC40DA. When I am clearing trails with the front loader and rotary cutter, sometimes limbs, etc. have found their way into some of the mechanics on the underside of the tractor. The other day a stick lodged underneath between the transmission pedal linkage, and the only way to stop the tractor from powering forward was to turn of the ignition key. The New Holland dealer says there are no protective skid plates available to install under the tractor to protect linkages, hydraulic hoses, etc. Any solutions? thanks, KT

No but I share your pain. I have mashed a hydraulic filter, bent a tie rod, pulled wires apart, and bent metal hoses from clearing debris getting me just right. You will get better at avoiding things but there will always be a sneaky stick.

My bulldozer had a full length belly pan and some members have fitted pans to their tractors. Lots of expensive things under there.

Several guys here on TBN have made their own skid plates and did great jobs of doing it. Do a search and maybe you can get some ideas.
