How much HP do you have to run the mower and drive the machine?

I would just add a hyd motor to the gear box.

How much blade speed do you want and what is your gear box ratio?

Some blade tip speeds are up in the 10,000 to 18,000 fpm.

This is a PTO hyd drive motor.

75hp skidsteer. 26 GPM flow. The existing gearbox is 75hp. I want to take it off and use a direct drive motor like the xtreme. ..

You are probable looking at a $1500 to $2000 hyd motor.

If you know the blade tip speed you want, that will tell you the spindle rpm, and you know the GPM, so then all you tell the supply co is to quote a piston motor and the type of shaft and you will need a hub for the piston motor that you can bolt a set of blades on.

You might call the link you posted and ask for price on replacement hyd motorfor the Xreme.

do you think it would be just as effective to leave existing gearbox (75hp 1:1.5) and go that route with slip clutch? just want to make a beefy rig

Depending on your hyd supply and pressure, the PTO motor I posted above should work.

That is how the other Xtreme units work.

We just use this 7' rotary mower for brush and grass, it has a shear pin and a cushion valve. It is the low flow model, 15-25 GPM.
