Winches Skiding wiches

Hi every one!

I am presently in negociation for purchase a 204 acres of wood land. I already own a b2320 and because of the money that i will put to buy the land, i will not be able to buy a bigger tractor like a l38 or l40. But i plan to buy some implements that i will use with my littel b2320 that i will be able to huse with a l38. I am planing to buy a littel skiding wiches like the wallenstein fx65. Does the b2320 can use it? I will just winch the tree to side side of my trail not traval a lot with log , cause i will cut them and load them in my log trailer.

You probably won't have enough HP (or tractor mass) to pull "whole trees" or anything close to it. But you can block the trees down to smaller sections that you should be able to pull. That said you are probably at the very lower limit for HP for a small logging winch, if not too low. My L3130 requires large oak trees to be shortened into 2-3 sections to pull them, but poplars and basswoods are a lot lighter, so I can pull longer sections of them.

Maybe someone with a tractor in your size range will chime in here...

I agree with dstig1. I have a similar set up as his on a 30 hp L3010.
There have been a couple threads within the past year from people wanting to do what you are asking. You can probably find them if if search winch or logging winch. If I remember right there were a wide range of opinions. But if the winch will fit on the tractor and you can pick it up and travel SAFELY with it you will be able to pull at least short logs as dstig1 says. You will need the learn to run the winch clutch so you won't stall your tractor.
