skidloader JD or other

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( I am still debating.
Have made a decision that I will not be buying a JD.
Also no Gehl or New Holland.
Probably a Bobcat S220 now as would rather have the old style instead of new. such as the old has less grease points and moving parts.

hAVE TILL EO jAN to say go on the Bobcat or price goes up 3 to 5 %, about $1500.

thanks for all your input and keep giving it.
May try a cat or attemp another go with Case.

I am getting a great buy price and a great trade in price on my 2060 Mustang

Thanks

whitetiger, NH and Case are inherently different machines, even if they are built at the same plant. I would argue that a Gehl 6640 and Mustang 2086 share more similarities than do an NH and a Case. The NH machines have always been designed with a low weight:power ratio. If you look at those ratios, either for lifting ability or for engine power, NH is usually at the tops of those lists. Take, for example, NH's Ls185.B. It weighs only 7100 pounds, but has 72 horsepower and lifts 2500 pounds. Other loaders in the 2500-lb ROC range usually weigh upwards of 7600 pounds; some, like the old Case 85XT, weighed over 8000 pounds. Case machines, on the other hand, are built much oversized (as are Deere skids). They use massive componentry, have heavy frames, and don't sacrifice much for weight. The 465 is one of the heaviest skid steers on the market.

I will agree, without much hesitation, that the cabs are beginning to look like one another. The vertical instrument panel has been adopted on the new 400-series Case machines; the smoother Case control options will extend (and have extended on track machines) to the NH ones.

I don't mean to pick a bone with you. In all sincerity, it's true that Case and NH are now under the same umbrella, but it's actually Deere that resembles a Case. Deere uses heavy components and large engines; if you look closely, their machines are built in many ways to model a Case's performance. (Of course they did take NH's great stability as well.)
