Hiya,

Anyone have any experience with the slip on grapple for pallet forks by add-a-grapple? (http://precisionmfg.com/products/?p=26&cTitle=Add-A-Grapple) The local dealer has them less hoses and couplers for $895.00 for pickup. If you have a set, do you have to log holder? If so, how does it work and is it worth the $?

Thanks,

Tom

Great Link, I'd love to hear from some folks who have used it. I've been considering a grapple bucket for logs but that would be a more economical choice for me.......

no experience, just couple thoughts that came to mind was. the length of forks and grapple stuck out. reminded me of an alligator mouth, but no teeth, except 2 small baby teeth in the very front.

other was eating with chop sticks. but using sticks for first time, and you are stabbing the food vs actually being able to eat well with chop sticks.

i could see myself having forks and grapple you linked to. and not perfectly picking up a log in center. and result only getting log caught up on one side. and having other side of log sliding off between forks and grapple and becoming very frustrated.. not to mention having actual view of things. if it was mounted on a skidsteer it most likely would not be as big of a problem due to maneuverability of a skidsteer and your view sight is much better. vs a tractor, were trying to view around the engine and lights between you and forks/grapple block a good portion of things.

for tractor a root bucket / rock bucket with grapple would more likely be ideal on FEL. due to it would not matter as much were you grab the log. and in that be more forgiving.
