Mowing sliding mower deck out?

Why won't my 44" deck roll from under my 3235 GT. It almost seems to me I will need to jack the tractor up a few inches to remove the deck. I have every thing dis-attachached as in the instructions but the rear of the deck keeps hitting as I try to wiggle it out? I also have the wheels set in the correct holes in the casters (as per instructions) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I also have a GT3235, but have a 54"deck which has the same "issue". What I do is get a 2 x 4 and drive my front wheels on it. Then lower the deck all the way down. Disconnect the PTO shaft, pull the pins on the arms underneath. I use a tie down strap to hold those arms up out of the way. I just wrap it all the way around the floor board of the machine. Then you should be able to wriggle it off the front support bracket and out from under the machine. If you have problems with the front support bracket, simply remove it to get it out of your way. But put it back before sliding the deck back under the machine to hook it up.

If you have any ramps then that works as well, just drive up a little bit and you will have access...

I took the 44" deck off my dads 3204 and just jacked up the rear slightly to get clearance.

I do basically the same thing as others have mentioned. I drop the deck first then use my old engine hoist to lift the entire front end up. Slides right out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This also gives me easy access to everything that needs a shot of grease or oil.
