Slip clutch tension

I just replaced the disks on my Mohawk rotary mower.
PS I hate electric fence wire and the people that throw it in the tall grass when they take it down! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I had to cut a 7 inch disk down to 5.5 inch because no one in sequin TX had the smaller ones.
Now I need to know how much tension to set on the clutch?
and how to check the tension /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Does any one remember the Mohawk mower?
The local John Deere agency used to sell Mohawk, but has no record of where they are located now or even if they are still in business.
And of course no manuals on any of their quipmant

Hi,
Post a picture of the slip clutch you replaced the discs on... I'll try to help...

(normally, you measure the spring height Prior to disassembly of slip clutch for a reference...)

(need to know... how many springs (preferably size (mm) of spring), discs, PTO hp of tractor used)

The tractor is a Kubota BX2200, 22 hp,
The mower is an old Mohawk 4 ft and the discs are 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
The slip clutch has 2 discs and the spring is a cone type like a howse, I have a 10ft Howse for my JD2955 and I used the discs for it by cutting 1 1/2 inches off of the outer rim.

(without external springs to adjust- this may be a "fixed" setting on this particular torque limiter...)

(I'll also assume this is a 4' cutter because of the BX2200 you're using... the only 4' cutters I've seen in the field with factory installed slip clutches are Medium Duty units ~~ min. 30-35 PTO hp)
