Hi, All, I'm Frank, Lucy's dad. Lucy's our 7275 and I'm so proud of her. Having found this site (and read a lot of the 13 pages of postings), I'm thinking this is a good place to hang my hat. Most of the quirks and quandries that I've experienced with Lucy in our 1140ish (tractor) hours(we bought her used at almost 900 hours) have been addressed. If I had one question, at this time, it would be to ask if anyone else is experiencing the elongating on the mounting holes on the 417 loader. If I had a comment to make it would be that if the resale price is low, doesn't it make it that much better for the guy that doesn't mind buying used? This is a really big site and I just found it a couple weeks ago. Actually, it's overwhelming. So I guess I'll make my stand here in the CC forum, probably pop up in other areas as I feel fit, lurk a lot, and keep on saying "May God bless".

Welcome to TBN! Tell Lucy I said hi. This site it huge and it's great to get new people in. I stay on the CC and lawn and garden forums most of the time. How about some pictures of your baby??

Welcome to TBN.
Actually the best way to keep up and not get lost on TBN is to view in 12 or 24 hour mode.

Re: Slitherin\' in

Welcome.

The Cub Cadets are really fine machines. I do not know why the resale is low. The CC dealer offered me $9500 for my 7 year old Cub, which I thought was decent. I really like my Cub. When you compare the specs between CC and the others, you will find that as far as basic tractors go, CC's (the old Mitsubishi 7xxx series) have more hydraulic flow, lift more on the 3PH and have two-stage clutches. I have the Bush Hog loader on mine which is OK, but I think NH and Case-IH have the nicest loaders out there. The bucket attachment (where the bucket attaches to the loader arms) is a little sloppy and the bucket itself is chincey.

Welcome to TBN. There doesn't appear to be that many folks from Maine that are part of this site, nor part of the Cub Cadet Clan. Excellent info for the CUTs. There are two or three of us down here in southern ME. Up in 'the County' I imagine most of the potato machines are a lot bigger than yours!! Welcome aboard.

Most, but not all. the 149 I got last winter (with a hole in the block where the balance gears let go) was at one time outfitted with an electric motor and used in a potato house!

I have a 7275 also. If you are talking about the lower holes on the FEL brackets, try tightening up the bolts that lock the legs on the mounts.

Re: Slitherin\' in

Welcome to TBN. It looks like most of the Cub owners are here in Maine /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I bought my 7360 slightly used from a JD dealer in Alabama after my local dealer could hardly be bothered to give me a quote. I took advantage of the lower resale. Since I tend to own things till they die, I will not suffer on the other end.

I work my Cub hard and it always performs. Ziggy has never seen the inside of a service bay. Although I would love to find a CC backhoe for it. I can't help much with your loader problem, as I have the 475 Cub loader.

Re: Slitherin\' in

I honestly meant to try JimR's suggestion today, but got involved in just working her some more (ended up with another cord of wood in the cellar). Those bolts seemed tight the last time I checked, but now wondering if a little downpressure on the bucket isn't in order. Betting I know by this time tomorrow night! Shaving Hill Farm is an interesting site. Sun sets too soon, now, doesn't it??
P.S. Ziggy works for me! Maybe we could get him and Lucy together and see what happens???

Re: Slitherin\' in

When I first bought my Cub 7275 I had the same problem and thought it was the elongated holes. I soon found out that my bolts were loose. What a difference it made to tighten them up. I did remove the bolts completely and put Neverseize on them. This will make them easier to come off in the future.
