P.S. Ziggy works for me! Maybe we could get him and Lucy together and see what happens??? )</font>

Thank you for your compliment. After 30 years in the high tech rat-race, I am happy to have a life ambition of 'just being a farmer'....
But I just can't leave that computer alone. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was very disappointed to see Cub abandon the Mitsubishi-built tractors. Maybe Ziggy and Lucy can help us expand the lineage. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Slitherin\' in

To JimR.

I bought my 7234 from a dealer, now out of business, in Freedom, NH. My first tractor after a lot of looking etc. I had a choice between the CC loader and a Bush Hog loader. I went with the BH because it was a lot cheaper and seemed a good value. The tractor had just an hour or two on it and was supposed to have come from some dealer in SE that couldn't sell it or something. After delivery I found that I couldn't move the 'movable' ROPs because the bolts/pins in it that position it were rusted in. I found this was the first night of ownership because I had to lower the ROPS to get it in the garage I tried to put it in. I also found some of the large bucket hinge pins wouldn't take any grease. Again no grease since assembly so they had seized slightly. Also a few missing and/or rusted screws and bolts on the tractor. None of them were serious but sure thought the dealer should have caught them in the pre-delivery set up/servicing of a new tractor.

Re: Slitherin\' in

I bought two Cubs from Bob. The parts prices were really reasonable. My first was the 7200 which had the CC loader. 417 maybe? The BH loader has a better mounting fram, but is a pain in the pettot to attach/re-attach.

Re: Slitherin\' in

The other difference between the CC loader an the BH was that the CC had steel piping for the hydraulics, whereas the BH has hoses. More breakabe maybe, but easier to replace.

Re: Slitherin\' in

The guys in Freedom also had a very nice selection of used implements at reasonable prices. The guy near me (Ittledo Farm Equipment) has a decent selection but seems to get top dollar.

Re: Slitherin\' in

I sold a few implements to Itlledo a few years ago. I had a sickle bar mower and two bottom plow. There are always used implements in Uncle Henry's, but they are alwasy out in East Gish. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Re: Slitherin\' in

Checked the loader bolts last night and tightened them a little. They were pretty snug. Now trying to talk myself into the fact that those holes aren't supposed to be perfectly round. (??) Got a pretty good snowstorm yesterday that had rain with it. Probably stuff that we'll be better off packing down instead of plowing. I've found that the bucket works as a plow at times when it's full of snow and there's not too much ahead of it.

Well, Hi, Everyone! Lucy and her dad are still alive and well. She's sitting outside patiently waiting for something to do. Snow removal in Portage lake, Maine hasn't added too many hours to her meter, which now reads 3248. I'm still proud of her. She's got a bunch of cousins around now, CC 123's, 149's, a 125, etc.
I just got an email from Muhammad Chishti, telling me I hadn't been to Tractorbynet since 2005 (wow!) and that I could click on links that would reset my password. I don't trust emails like that - especially from a name like that!! Am I wrong?
Whatever, now that I've found my way back, (through proper channels) I'll probably check in more often. Later, Frank

Hi Frank,
Good to hear Lucy is doing that well. Sounds like you have been working her hard. Any Signs of Old Lucy slowing down? Im sure the guys in the Mahindra forum would like to hear about how well she is doing since that Mitsu machine is now rebadged as the 2816 and painted red. This is one of the highest hour Mitsubishi tractors I have heard of. Correct me if Im wrong, but you arent moving much snow this year are you? :D

Frank -

Wow, that's some hours and a testament to Cubs! You should write Cub Cadet a nice letter, perhaps they'll hire Lucy for some advertising/testimonial and put some $$$ in your pocket! ;)
I've got 3 newer Cub Compacts, and don't have 100 hours between the 3 of em.....!
