Small easement and ROW clearing job procurement

What happens when the saw jams in a tree, and it will. Drop the saw? Crash the helicopter?

I had no idea either until I saw it happening a mile away from home! There are a bunch of youtube videos, search on "helicopter tree trimming". Here is one:

Gees, those trees are close to the conductor. I'm doing ROW work and we have to clear 10 metres from the outside wire. No chopper required just mow em down with the mulcher.

Most of the chopper clearing is done on very steep hill or mountain sides or areas you cant access with a Jarraff or Skytrim it seems. Seen the helis used in the Appalachians a few years ago on some transmission lines going up a very steep mountain side. Was mostly all pines and made short work of the hillside.

There was a heli with a saw like that working around here. My brother in law is a lineman for the local power board. He said they charged $10,000 an hour. Could go several miles In completely Un accessible areas per hour. He also said it was analyzed and was much cheaper than traditional clearing methods.
