BP - sounds like you're getting ready to take another run at a B series machine?? Which one do you have in mind? The 2320 again? Ah, I miss the rush of the hunt. Wish I had an excuse to be back in the market again.

Chris, less than 20 hours will tell the tale.;)

Well, my experience with both the BX, and B have been positive. The B is a more laid back tractor, and does a lot of work at lower RPM for every day chores like loader work, etc. I found the BX to be extremely tough, but running it at higher RPM for everything made it sound, and act "busy" to me. Evern my Simplicity Legacy with the gas engine seems milder, quieter, and less so. Still, the BX is the Swiss Army knife of homestead tractors, especially if you need something that you can mow with as well as do the tractor work. I miss mine sometimes, and wish that I had gotten a mmm for it when I had it.

bp, I'm sure you have researched it thoroughly, but by moving up to the 2620 you get a little bigger tires, therefore more ground clearance which I think you were looking for, stronger loader and of course a bit more hp.

As for the other options you mentioned:
work lights - for me the house lights do a pretty good job when I am out early dealing with the snow, so haven't bothered.
wheel spacers - when someone posted a picture with them, I thought they looked pretty cool, but seem kind of costly, so haven't sprung for them. I do like the wider stance of the 2630, so maybe worth it.
hooks for the bucket - had them welded on at the 50 hr. service.

Gator, that is only true with R1. All of 20 series comes with the same sized R4s. That wee .8 difference in ground clearance is stated with "standard" R1 tires. No difference in ground clearance when all are equipped with same R4.

Anybody want to rah rah the 40 amp alternator option?

Rah Rah - comes standard on the BX and when I plow on a winter's night, I run my stock headlights, two ROPS mounted forward lights, a rear spotlight, and sometimes my flashers if I'm out by the public road. The 40 amp makes that possible with room to spare.
