you must be a sight to see on your tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif As far as wearing shorts while tractoring, I've been "hung" up a few times and the secret I've found, is to get off the tractor the same way as you get on and not try to just step or slide off.
In my younger, yuppie days, I must admit I used to collect fine watches (and pens), most of which have already passed on to my sons and grandson. Still got the Rolex though, present from my wife, though mine kept great time, lost about 1 minute a month. Ever since I retired I don't wear a watch at all. Time doesn't seem all that important anymore. I have more need for a calander to keep track of the days that I have for a watch to keep track of the hours, minutes are meaningless. Also, the wedding ring has been on my finger for 25 years and will only come off if my finger does.

your building is very, very like the one I scoped out. It had a a full cement slab and the blocks were 1 level lower, but otherwise, very close. I think if I go ahead with it, I'll subcontract out the slab and the block work and do the rest myself. That'll probably be the fastest and cheapest way for me to procede. I just need some motivation to get going. Got to build my chicken coop first though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow! I guess I shouldn't be hanging out with you guys /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, I wear a Philippine made Timex with my Carharts and am scrounging free building materials for a 10 x 14 (or what ever even numbers work out for what I scrounge) shed. So far I have all the oak 3" x 4" studs necessary, just scrounging the plywood for the roof. I'll probably end up buying the shingles and T1-11 siding for a total cost of hopefully under $1000 including everything. Maybe I should be asking if any of the places you guys work is hiring? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Joe, we are all just one big happy tractor family, and yes we are hiring, but I think the commute from PA to IN will get pretty tiresome after a while! We may come from different areas and different backgrounds, but we share tractor fun!

Frank, one minute a month is good for a Rolex! Must be because your wife gave it to you. I know some collectors who claim, on average, they gain or lose a minute or two a day. And I'll admit my Breitling needs to be adjusted a minute or two every week so its not perfect. As for pens, I'm partial to Pelikans. I've got the obligitory Mont Blanc that I carry to trade shows and for contracts, only because it is the expected pen to be carried. But I don't really think much of them. I've got a Waterman I like better than any MB I've ever used. But like I said, for me, a nice Pelikan 600 series fits and feels just right. And I'm not into the artsy engraved and inlayed stuff. Just a nice barrel and good looking cap.

That's terrible to hear that about Rolexes. I knew a couple of guys that sold knock off Rolexes, you know, the ones that look exactly like a Rolex except for the inside of the band? Their $30 specials kept time as least as well as that. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

As for Mont Blanc...been through two of them and wasn't impressed in the least and have since graduated to ST Dupont....going on three years day in day out on a gold Orphio....I just have a hard time with 7.00 for a refill that only lasts less than a month....

The lumber for "framing" was just a shade under $4000. That excludes the "interior trim" lumber and the "cedar siding." The bill for the cedar siding (pre-finished, 2 coats) was right at $3000. Brick & Limestone was just over $4000. The price for the foundation (42" deep frost foundation), concrete, gravel and excavation was almost $8200. Drywall was $1800. Insulation $750. Natural gas furnace $3000 (including running the gas line almost 200'). ETC ETC ETC
