To take advantage of a wire tie, you set the bale tension 3 -4 times higher. That cuts down on the number of bales ( which are heavier). That's great for machinery handling and tonnage sales, but a problem for horse folks having to handle 160 lb bales. The new twines are biodegradeable (rot in sunlight) but are often chewed by mice if left out in the field. Take a poll from your customers about size, weight and twine/wire disposability.
