We can help with those
All other suggestions are great so far, you値l quickly find out that getting the tractor was the
inexpensive part:laughing:
There ^, fixed it for ya !
Welcome to TBN OP. You came to the right place..... you'll have tons of help here, spending more money
I'll second the vote for a Mr. Funnel, or another good-quality water separating funnel.
I don't know the details of your operating climate, but probably more importantly - what is your background re. diesels ? Is this your first diesel, or have you had many before ?
If new - understand the issues around managing water in fuel (critical with cold Winters, but actually matters long-term wherever you are.....) - keep at least one spare fuel filter on-hand. Don't know what is on your JD, but if it is like a typical SCUT fuel filter today, keep several around, and look at what bigger equipment runs for guidance on upgrades to fuel filtration (hard to go wrong with Racor....).
^ re. above, do some reading (if no incumbent now) and pick a fuel additive, and adjust seasonally as needed. Ex. Power Service, just to name one widely available.
Tractor use pattern ? If it will sit unused for long stretches, get a good quality battery maintainer, and/or a battery disconnect switch if it won't give your electronics fits (?). Again - use dependent - auxiliary LED lighting is popular, nobody can argue with more light - also auxiliary warning flashers, if used for local road travel. Tire-chains, if/as needed.....
Have fun, play safe. If this is your first tractor, spend time reading the Safety section (actually, good reading for
all of us,
regardless of tractor-time-to-date.....).
