Summer is here and it is Movie Time On the Square. Since there are no Movie theaters in the county the portable movie comes to the Town Square. The Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event and sells popcorn, hot dogs and drinks for a buck each to cover expenses. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's neat Don! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif sounds a lot like going to the drive-in. The Mrs and I go here at least 2-3 times a year, despite the fact that it's about an hour away.

This was the first time I experience seeing lighting and lighting bugs at the same time while watching a movie. An occasional pickup with a trailer load of cattle passing behind the screen added to the entertainment. In the preview picture Deputy Dawg is in hot pursuit. The feature movie was Finding Nemo.
A good time was had by all. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don that reminds me of a drive in movie, very nice idea. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We are lucky enough to have the Lincoln Theater built in 1915 located in a small town (Massillion) about 20 minutes from us. It is an old theater that was completely renovated by the local Lions Club and has a lot of history behind it. Anyway the theater is completely run by volunteers, there are no paid employees. The folks are really friendly because they want to be there, not because they have to be there. All the money that is raised goes to purchasing seeing eye dogs for the blind residing in and around the area. The best part is a movie, soft drink, and a large popcorn refilled as many times as you like is but 5 bucks total!

The wife and I usually frequent a nice Italian restaurant close to the theater then take in the show every Friday night. Lincoln Theater

Last Friday my wife volunteered to collect tickets at the theater before the movie and they tried to give us both free tickets for the good deed. We declined the tickets because we believe in their cause and want to contribute like everyone else.

They did something like that at one of our county parks last year. The screen was this huge, inflatable thing. Nearly as big as a drive-in screen. It was pretty cool, we watched Finding Nemo on the grass /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
